The Cards Screen

The cards screen shows what cards you currently own as well as information about card trade-in value and how many cards other players currently own.

Layout
At the top of the Cards screen you will see the cards that you currently own.  Each card has a symbol and a territory name.  If you currently own the territory which the card refers to, the card will also have the text "(owned)" under the territory name.  Various card-related data and rules are shown under your cards.

Trade-in Values
The card trade-in values are listed below your cards.  There are a number of different trade-in values from which the game creator could have picked, this area will show which trade-in values are being used for your game.

To trade in a set of cards, you must have a set, which is one of the following:
A wild card can be substituted for any other symbol to make a set.
Trade-in Rules
Whe creating the game, the game creator specifies the rules for trading in cards.  The three main rules for turning in cards are:

Trade-in Time
There are two different game types which the creator could have chosen: trade-in anytime or trade-in only at the beginning of the turn.  If the first ("trade-in anytime") was selected, a player can trade in cards at any time they have a set, it does not have to be the players turn.  However, the armies received from the trade-in can only be placed on the board at the beginning of the player's turn, with the exception of owned territory bonus armies, which are described below (read the interesting note).  If the second ("trade-in only at the beginning of the turn") was selected, a player can only trade cards in at the beginning of his or her turn, before placing armies.

Maximum card accrual
The game creator selects the maximum card accrual when creating the game.  The possible values are 5, 6, 7 or 8.  When a player reaches the maximum accrual number, they are forced to trade in a set of cards at the beginning of their next turn.  If trading in a set does not bring the player below the maximum card accrual, they will be forced to continue trading in sets until they have less than the maximum card accrual.

Owned territory bonus
An owned-territory bonus may be given when a player owns a territory that a traded-in card refers to.  There are three options that the game creator selects from when creating the game:
If the creator has requested for owned territory bonuses to be used, extra armies will be given when the cards are traded in if you own territories denoted on the cards.

One interesting note:  If the game creator has selected "trade-in anytime", and has selected to use owned territory bonuses, where the bonuses are placed onto the territory, it is possible to place armies onto the board when it is not your turn.  This can be used strategically to add defenses out of turn.
